cables, and cords, and wires oh, my…

31 August 2011

This is what greeted us when we came in our back entryway:march 2011 128 1Look at that crazy mess of cords and wires! We had our computer big main box (what in the heck is it called?) to the left of the desk, but it was near a vent, so we needed to move it. We had the idea of drilling a hole in the countertop (it’s laminate~if you have a drill, you can buy the attachment to make the hole at any hardware or home improvement store for around $7-$8)march 2011 126 1

so we could put the computer under the desk and feed all the cords down to it, under the desk and out of sight:august 2011 032 1
Now the only cords and wires that show are to the mouse and the keyboard…and I guess if we wanted to, we could go wireless for both of those as well, huh?

It gives so much more room in our tiny kitchen desk area:august 2011 054 1

This drawer was too skinny for some new hardware, so we used the famous ripped fabric trick {more here}august 2011 019 1
I’ve hung a file box on the side of the desk (I got it at my friend Bliss’ yard sale..she had awesome junk :)  If you want, I can share my whole paper system sometime…would that be a good post topic?august 2011 022 1
You can see my little phone list holder above the desk (I blotted out numbers, cuz I don’t think our friends and neighbors and doctors and school secretaries would want their phone numbers broadcast on the internet), the timer is for yours truly because blogs & Pinterest are too addicting for me to handles sometimes, and the tray I have had for 11 years now. It’ holds my sunglasses, blog notebook, phone, etc, etc. And believe me, the etc. can pile up so quickly!!    august 2011 051 1  A little solution that makes ALL  the difference in this little space..
Have you come up with any great office space lifesavers lately?signature
