Thank you so much for all of the kind words and encouragement about Lauren’s room. It is the guest room as well, so she gets kicked out when we have company…
Chandelier: $20 from Goodwill, plus $3 in pom pom fringe from JoAnns w/ coupon…more later!
Wall O’ Mirrors: $20
Headboard: $10 off of Craigslist, we painted it white.
The lamps were from a yard sale in Lubbock and I added some Target clearance shades and white pom pom fringe $17
The quilt was made by my Great Gram Anderson. When my daughter said she wanted it on her bed, I did a little dance of joy. Priceless, but no money spent.
The bedskirt was a Target clearance find for $10. It was a king, but I just folded and staple gunned it to the bed frame to make it work.
The curtains are from Target in the 95” length and the sheers were one $5 panel that I cut in half, and then cut some holes in the top and hung with some white sheer ribbon. Since the rest of the room was so busy and colorful, I decided on fresh, simple white for the windows. I hung the rod out and up for a more dramatic effect since she has high ceilings in there.
The DIY artwork I talked about in my guest post at Traci’s…$17.
The dresser was $40 off of Craigslist, I’ll talk more about painting all of the furniture…
The chairs were a Goodwill find at $4 each, plus $8 in fabric.
The desk, chair, hutch, and nightstand were at a yard sale for $35 total and used to be in my laundry room.
We made the tissue paper pom poms using this tutorial. $5 for the paper. The box that they are in are a yard sale find.
The paint color! How could I forget that? It was actually an oops can of paint from the Home Depot for $5 that I lightened with white paint. The color we had picked out to use was actually a Walmart color called Sea Turtle (color place #335), so you may have luck with that one.
Grand Total for furniture + everything, plus we’ll throw in $50 for paint, etc.
$283
I’ve gotten some emails about HOW: where do I begin, how do you put it all together, etc. so we’ll be talking about those things, plus I have a little thorn in my side called THE KITCHEN.
Much more to come…thanks for hanging in here with me!
