I ventured out to a few sales on Friday morning~ we had a huge thunderstorm, but it cleared and my boys and I headed out a little later in the morning~here are my finds:
cool vintage airplane prints for my boys' room, $1 each:

a basket ($2) I put by the front door for misc items the neighbor kids leave. Somebody else likes it too:

Aren't these glass lamp bases gorgeous? I had to contain the happy dance in front of the woman and just kind of wave them and say, how much do you want for these old things? Okay, I really didn't say that, but I tried to pretend my hardest that I didn't love them and they weren't worth that much. :)
$5 later, they were mine!

I was so excited when I got home, I let the breakfast dishes continue to get crusty in the sink, turned on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, grabbed some flowers that I had bought at the big Michael's clearance for my girls' room, fired up the glue gun, and went to town. Here is before:

I just pulled the flowers off, and glue gunned them around the base of the shade. 10 minutes later, I had some instant gratification for the top of the dresser in my daughters' room: Love the fluffiness!

If only dishes and dust and diapers were as much fun as glue guns, flowers, and lampshades...I'd be such the fantastic homemaker :)
Happy Labor Day, y'all! Don't forget to wear your favorite team logo shirt to Chick-Fil-A today to get a free chicken sandwich. I took this picture on dress like a cow day (more free food :) and may just blow it up and put it in one of those yard sale frames above. Can you say heaven?
