anatomy of a messy kitchen table + Lowes rugs!

16 June 2011

This was our table this morning. Let’s analyze, shall we?june 2011 020 2  1. Fathers Day cards that need to be sent out
2. jars & bug spray from catching fireflies last night (they have just begun to come out around here!)
3.  table needs to be refinished~it’s on the list.

4. etsy order that I ripped open
5. beads~those darn tiny iron ones that they love so much
6. my new phone upgrade that I need to program
7. for a project coming up
8. breakfast remains
9. empty milk jug that no one bothered to throw away…C’MON
10. Who in the heck is on garbage duty??
Summer has thrown me and I’m in a bit of a funk as far as the blog goes. Tons of stuff&projects I need to put into posts, but finding the time and energy right now is tough when it’s so nice outside…
For now though, I need to thank Emily at Decorchick! june 2011 014 1 She gave us the heads up on clearance 5X7 rugs at Lowes for $34! {ETA: see comments below: people are now getting them for $17!!} I got this one on Tuesday…I was at Lowes, couldn’t find them, so I called Kristin and made her go to Emily’s to find the item number for me in the comments.  Then I took it up front, they punched it in and the computer said there were 2 more left. Sooo, the guy called back to rugs, they couldn’t find them and they said “sorry, it looks like they’re gone.”
cha right.
I went back to the rug section and started digging. I found them across from the hanging rugs, standing up in plastic.
The item number is: 147081 (for this one~there are two other styles I guess, but I don’t have the item numbers for them, but if anyone has them, please post in the comments!)
You can call your Lowes, give them the item number and they can look it up. If they say they have some, have them put them on hold for you if they will. If the computer says they have them and the people working there say they don’t, I would go looking myself.
Okay, and one more little Lowes tip: did you know you can buy the 10% coupons on Ebay? Make sure they are actual coupons (like the kind you get in the mail), not printouts, copies, or emails and that you have plenty of time before they expire, but they can save you lots of $$, especially if you have some projects in the works. I thought it was supposed to be illegal to sell coupons, but the sellers get around it by saying the coupons are free, you are paying for the time and money it takes to collect them. Sneaky.
H. Depot also accepts any Lowes coupons FYI…
ETA Again: If you already bought some at $34, if you take your receipt in they should do a price adjustment for you! Lindsay posted a picture of all 3 rugs here.
