silvery Christmas vignette

01 December 2010

When we moved first moved to Viriginia we lived in a hotel for a week while we were waiting for the final closing on our present home. I didn’t know anyone, it was crazy cold outside, and we got sick of the hotel room really quickly, so I went on a daily trip to the Chick-Fil-A playland and then to Target with my boys while their sisters were in school and my husband started his new job. This was the beginning of January, mind you, so of course all the Christmas kept getting marked down…and I scored big time. Big tubes and buckets of silver balls were $1.25, mercury glass eventually went 75% off, you get the picture. :) Thus, the abundance of silver this year….and the start of a wonderful relationship with my Target here.

Ornaments from Hob Lob in Texas, ribbon from $ Tree, buffet lamps $4.98 clearance at Target when they were clearing out all of their frames….

These bells ^ from the Dollar Tree make an appearance every year :)
The glass jars were in our bedroom and bathroom in Texas, here they are resurrected in a new Virginia life:

You met the silver bell wreath yesterday…

All of this was from Target’s clearance last year (or the trees were from the year before that), except for some plates and trays from Goodwill). I think the Noel, Joy, and Peace ornaments were from Walmart last year? Can you believe my price scanner memory is drawing a blank??

The candles are about to get dressed…stay tuned :) And I’ve already tweaked my apothecary jars since taking these pictures…

This is the picture that hangs in our entryway~I couldn’t get a good picture of it without a glare. Some of you have asked where it’s from~ it’s called Master Servant by Del Parson

and it helps remind us of the reason for the season amidst the pretties and shinies….
