pumpkins on my porch

I was lamenting the fact that we didn't carve pumpkins this year, but the bright side is that they make great, simple porch decorations through Thanksgiving~

Have a great weekend and if you haven't already, you have through Sunday to comment on my houzz interview for the chance at the $50 Target gift card. Good luck!

p.s. if you have photoshop elements and are wondering how I colored the pumpkins, here is a great tutorial.

Loooking over your Houzz interview. I loved the photos. Can't pick my favorite, all are beautiful. I do really like the vingate suitcases. I was not familiar with Houzz previously. I will take more time later to check it out further. Thanks, Amy amydhay@gmail.com

I'm going to check out the interview now. I feel better. We got busy and did not carve pumpkins this year either. They have forgotten, so far! We may have to carve one for Thanksgiving! :) I love Photoshop and am going there now to check it out! Thanks!

I was not familiar with Houzz either but its such a wonderful resource. My favorite picture was the laundry room with the lamp and the basket. Love the green color, love the texture and love the black accents. Beautiful!

I love this picture. How did you make it to have a black and white picture and all the pumpkins and leaves colored? Beautiful!

I agree! Now that my kids are a little bigger, they're not quite so much into carving pumpkins. So I just use them 'til Thanksgiving!

I loved your Houzz interview so much that I emailed them to thank them for it!

I love your pumpkin porch! Sometimes simple is best, anyway! We carved pumpkins but they had to be tossed within a day or two 'cause they started to rot. I like uncarved ones better anyway!

Ditto! We didn't carve ours and they still look good next to the front door. :)

Beautiful photo! We didn't carve pumpkins this year either. I was down with swine flu and hubbie was a bit overwhelmed being a single parent. My kids didn't seem to mind either.

I have been behind in my blog reading because I am drowning in boxes and STUFF sitting everywhere looking for a home:) I got an email from HOUZZ and I can't wait to read all about your house. I haven't even had time to do that. I will try and get there tonight or tomorrow. How nice to be featured.

I wish pumpkin carving season came AFTER thanksgiving, because I like to use plain pumpkins as decorations too. AND I really like to eat them. yum!
