girls' room updates...

12 October 2009

I have slowly been trying to update my girls' room. I painted the walls Sherwin Williams Ivoire to compliment the yellow and green in the antique furniture. I took all of your advice and didn't paint it and decided to work with it.
We got rid of the bunkbed and remember the trundle daybed I found at a yard sale?

I just sprayed right over that bad brass with Heirloom White spray paint (by Rustoleum found at Home Depot), and used a Waverly comforter with green and yellow flowers on it. It's a bit of a pain pulling out the trundle every night and pushing it under every morning, but it really opens it up in there.

For the wall above the bed, I used the flowers from my summer tin (a bit faded now, but they still do the job)
a pair of sweet shelves from a yard sale last weekend (.50 each)
these tins from a yard sale in the spring (.25 each)

and this chunkalicious frame, also from a yard sale this summer ($3)
I spray painted the shelves green, the tins and the frame heirloom white, and then blew up a random photo of my girls at the park this summer. It is an 11 X 17 ~ I had it done at Sams Club and it was only $2.33 and I love it! I'm going to be blowing photos up all around at those prices..

I'll show you a few more things from their room as I finish up...
but the total to decorate their big wall?
$7.83
Sweetness :)
