soap saver

18 February 2009

I love bath and body works soaps. A little tip when the foaming ones are empty:
peel off the sticker, fill halfway up with cheap shampoo, fill the rest with water, and it still foams beautifully and gives you clean hands at a fraction of the price! You can still pull out the "real" ones when guests come. Works for me...

  1. Great tip! You can stretch it even further in this way: when the BBW soap gets down to about half or so, fill it up with water. You can do this 2 or 3 times, which of course dilutes it further each time, but it still foams and smells good. Also, to refill the pump when you've emptied it, you only need to put about an inch of other liquid soap and then fill it up with water. I figured that out from when I used to have the Pampered Chef foaming pump.

  2. Thanks for the tips, Holly! I added more shampoo because it seemed a little runny, but I'll try less next time and see how it works~

  4. Great idea and that coconut suave smells so yummy. I also like the one that has a beachy name and is pale blue.

    I'll have to try this.

  11. Actually, I've never tried shampoo, Melissa, so maybe it works differently. But you can get away with it with regular liquid handsoap. It's great for using up the dregs in regular soap pumps, just add water, shake and pour into the foaming pump!
    Love your blog, BTW!

  13. I love the changes - looks so elegant! Just wanted to mention to please be very careful with the cotton around the candle -- although pretty, that looks like a fire hazard to me!

  14. this is exactly what I do, only I prefer using Method foam soap bottle because it has a wide base and is easier to dispense for my little girl.
